Meticulous

The Meticulous Study

Observational results in ten adults using GLP-1 receptor agonist medications. Followed to 90 days, with four continuing to 180. What the group reported, then what each participant reported, in their own words, with their photography.

What happened across the group

Ten adults on GLP-1 therapy applied the Longevity Hybrid Defense Serum and Revolumizing Bioactive Moisturizer together, twice daily, for 90 days, submitting photography and written check-ins at days 14, 30, 60 and 90. Four continued to 180 days.

All ten reported improvement in the appearance of their skin. All ten completed the protocol. None discontinued. Most participants reported first noticing a change within the first month; one reported it at four to six weeks.

Weight change across the group ran from 12 lb to 207 lb, and the participants at both extremes described broadly similar outcomes.

The system was well tolerated in a group that includes self-reported sensitive and reactive skin, and one participant using a prescription topical throughout.

What this document is

This reports a single observational study of the Meticulous topical system, the Longevity Hybrid Defense Serum and the Revolumizing Bioactive Moisturizer, used together in adults on GLP-1 receptor agonist therapy. It is described as it was conducted.

Regulatory positioning

The Meticulous topical products are cosmetic products. All claims made here are cosmetic, appearance-based claims. No disease, treatment or structure/function claim is made or intended, and the products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, including any condition associated with GLP-1 therapy.

Individual results

Every account and photograph in this document describes one individual's experience. Individual results vary, and nothing here is presented as a typical or expected outcome.

The 180-day subgroup

Four participants continued to 180 days, and all four remained on GLP-1 therapy. Angela describes continued weight loss over the period; Kindra refers to the significant weight loss she has experienced; Sara and Gina describe continuing on therapy without stating further loss. All four describe their skin quality as maintained or improved relative to day 90. Because six participants have no data at 180 days, this is reported as description rather than as a count.

Angela L.

Participant 1 of 10
46 ยท GLP-1 therapy ยท ~50 lb lost, continuing

Before the study Occasional store-brand moisturizer, nothing consistent. Perimenopausal, sensitive skin, pre-existing facial flushing. A deepening forehead expression line, emerging vertical lines around the mouth, first-ever fine lines, skin thinning during rapid weight loss.

What she reported
Day 14Skin smoother, more hydrated, more dewy without makeup. Less dryness through the day.
Day 30Forehead expression line softer, mouth fine lines less visible. Dull, flaky patches gone. Areas that had begun to sag plumping back up. Comments from those closest to her about a glow.
Day 60More hydrated and resilient, texture smoother, expression lines softer. Through winter her skin stayed comfortable rather than turning dull and dry as in previous years.
Day 180The deep forehead line she describes as โ€œdeep enough to easily slide my fingernail intoโ€ is now barely visible. Silky texture along the jawline. Rarely wearing more than eye makeup. Her facial flushing, she notes, has not improved.
Participant account
Areas that were starting to feel saggy have started to plump back up. When I look in the mirror, I feel like I'm seeing myself again.Day 30

Kindra R.

Participant 2 of 10
48 ยท GLP-1 therapy, 13 months at entry ยท ~65 lb lost and still losing throughout the study

Before the study Basic cleanser and moisturizer. Perimenopausal. Goal was natural-looking improvement without injectables. Early jowl formation, jawline softening, fine lines and crepiness, loss of firmness through chin and neck, skin fragile and reactive.

What she reported
Day 14Somewhat drier during an unusually cold winter. Jawline slightly firmer in progress photos. Changes gradual.
Day 30Fine lines beginning to soften. Chin and neck firmer, jawline definition improved. Natural-looking and subtle, which she wanted.
Day 60Skin less fragile and more supported. Fine lines around eyes and mouth softer. Others commenting she looked healthier and more rested.
Day 90Firmer jawline and neck. Texture smoother and more refined. Fine lines less noticeable through the day. Calmer and more even.
Day 180Skin quality maintained through continued weight loss. Jawline more defined, skin adapting to facial change rather than looking loose. More resilient to changes in environment and hydration.
Participant account
Looking back at my photos, I can see that my skin has maintained its overall quality even with the significant weight loss I've experienced. I think that's probably the biggest difference for me.Day 180

Baseline, day 90 and day 180. Panels are scale-normalised so eye line and face size are comparable; no other adjustment, no retouching or colour correction. Lighting and colour temperature vary between panels.

Sara M.

Participant 3 of 10
47 ยท GLP-1 therapy, 4 weeks at entry ยท ~10 lb lost during the study, following a substantial prior weight loss

Before the study Minimal routine. Extremely sensitive and scent-sensitive skin. Self-described skeptic. Loss of plumpness and volume, uneven tone across face and neck, fine lines more defined, under-eye bags, visible pores.

What she reported
Day 14Softer and more hydrated, texture more consistent. Biggest visible difference was tone evening out. Cheeks and jawline slightly more plump; under-eye bags starting to improve.
Day 30Noticeable improvement in fine lines, tone and texture. No negative reaction despite very sensitive skin, and no adjustment period. Age spots visibly fading, unprompted.
Day 60Consistent tone and texture the biggest change. Cheeks fuller from month two. Forehead lines softening, more visible in photos than in the mirror. More structure through cheeks and jawline; skin thickness felt improved.
Day 90Face looks fuller in the day 90 photos despite losing 10 more pounds during the study. Firmer, less tired. Fewer foundation products needed; pores less visible.
Day 180Fullness maintained, no hollowing of the cheeks. A prominent age spot she describes as gone. No irritation at any point.
Participant account
I have lost 10 pounds between the before-and-after photos, yet my face looks fuller in the 90-day photos.Day 90

Ivet E.

Participant 4 of 10
48 ยท GLP-1 therapy, 3 months at entry ยท ~12 lb lost

Before the study Multiple products including hyaluronic acid serum and primer. Actively considering injectables at entry. Rapid facial aging over a few months, loss of plumpness, face and neck tired and less vibrant, deepening lines, skin dragging down.

What she reported
Day 14Softer and less dry. Face more youthful and uplifted, lines less visible. The urgency around injectables faded.
Day 30Face and neck smoother, more youthful, noticeably plumper, with fewer fine lines. Cut several other products from her routine. No negative reactions.
Day 60Clear hydration and barrier improvement, less surface dryness and fewer dehydration lines. Texture more refined around mouth and chin. Redness calmer. Changes consistent across multiple photo angles rather than lighting-dependent.
Day 90Smoother, more even, healthier. Redness calmed significantly. Pores more refined. Face and neck more lifted and naturally plump, and in her words โ€œnot overdone.โ€
Participant account
I was really having a hard time with my face, it aged super quickly in the past few months. As much as I dislike [injectables], I was seriously starting to consider getting some work done. The products have taken that edge and urgency off.Day 14

Gina G.

Participant 5 of 10
54 ยท GLP-1 therapy, 19 months at entry ยท Amount lost not recorded

Before the study No established routine. In her words, โ€œI can't find anything that I like and that works.โ€ Dryness and micro-roughness, crepey eye texture, pronounced nasolabial folds and marionette lines, mild midface flattening, early under-eye hollowing. Her stated fear was the hollowed look.

What she reported
Day 14Dramatically smoother. Dark spots less prominent. First time confident going out without makeup; a friend commented her face looked smoother.
Day 30Brighter, more even tone. Face and neck softer, hydrated, visibly firmer. Elasticity improving.
Day 60Facial firmness noticeably improved, with the skin tighter and more lifted. Lower face the strongest change, with less heaviness around mouth and jawline. Under-eye smoother and less hollow.
Day 90Skin fuller and more refreshed, not hollowed as she had feared. Under-eye plumper rather than sunken. Fine lines softer; nasolabial folds softened and marionette lines less deep.
Day 180Dryness gone entirely. Firmness and elasticity improved. In her words, โ€œit doesn't feel loose or tired like it used to.โ€ Better tolerance of sun exposure than in previous summers.
Participant account
One thing I was especially concerned about was the possibility of my face looking hollower or having sunken areas around my eyes. I can clearly see that my skin looks fuller and more refreshed, and the area around my eyes no longer looks sunken as I feared it might.Day 90

Before the study No routine at all, in his words โ€œbar soap in the shower.โ€ Looser-appearing skin, more visible fine lines, no glow, rougher texture, significant midface volume loss.

What he reported
Day 14Tightness and a smooth glow within two weeks; wrinkles becoming less noticeable.
Day 30Face looking normal and full again rather than caved. Smooth shine developing.
Day 60Freckles and age spots lightening; face and neck colour more balanced. Skin around the eyes tightening, smaller lines significantly reduced. Others commenting on a glow.
Day 90Clear reduction in wrinkles, skin smoother. Deep forehead lines visibly smoothed. Under-eye bags less prominent. Zero irritation across the full 90 days.

Michael M.

Participant 8 of 10
58 ยท GLP-1 therapy, 12 months at entry ยท ~190 lb lost at entry, reaching ~207 lb cumulative

Before the study Full multi-step routine plus an oral collagen supplement, continued throughout. Significant sagging across face and neck, jawline softening with early jowls, marionette shadowing, under-eye fatigue and puffiness, uneven tone. At the extreme end of what GLP-1 users experience.

What he reported
Day 14Softer skin especially around the eyes; forehead softer, slightly more radiant. Noted the serum stung slightly immediately after shaving and the moisturizer settled it.
Day 30Smooth and soft with no greasy feel. Tone starting to even. Face looking younger and healthier with a natural glow.
Day 60Sharper jawline, reduced jowl heaviness, cleaner cheek-to-jaw transition, improved chin contour. Lower third more supported and less descended.
Day 90Elasticity continuing to return, coloration evening out, neck smoother and tighter.
Participant account
My skin tone is starting to look more even, and my face appears younger, healthier, and well-nourished, with a natural glow.Day 30

Meg C.

Participant 9 of 10
41 ยท GLP-1 therapy ยท ~40 lb lost

Before the study Prescription-grade routine including a topical retinoid, dermatologist-monitored and continued throughout. Self-described skeptic and reactive skin. Deeper nasolabial folds, loss of plumpness and glow, under-eye crepiness and shadowing.

What she reported
Day 14Skin softer and bouncier, more hydrated. Nasolabial creases shallower. Makeup no longer sitting in creases.
Day 30Clear texture and plumpness improvement. Visible decrease in nasolabial fold depth, her primary concern. Unexpected improvement in redness.
Day 60More resilient through winter, with fewer reactive episodes and faster recovery, and no need to pull back on vitamin C.
Day 90Biggest improvements mid-cheek, under-eye and around the mouth. Jawline laxity more supported. Under-eye the most dramatic change, with less shadowing and crepiness. Less background redness. Followers asking about her routine unprompted.
Participant account
I saw a visible decrease in the depth of my nasolabial folds, my biggest skin-related confidence issue.Day 30

Katherine M.

Participant 10 of 10
62 ยท GLP-1 therapy, 8 months at entry ยท ~23 lb lost

Before the study Consistent moisturizing for years, plus a brightening regimen for dark spots, continued throughout. Droopiness at the mouth corners, jawline losing firmness, crepiness under the jaw, age spots, long-standing under-eye darkness.

What she reported
Day 14Felt soft but much the same as before. Her husband noticed first, face tighter, less droopy at the mouth corners.
Day 30Ran out mid-study and reverted to her previous moisturizer. Reported dryness and fine lines returning, then improving again once she resumed.
Day 60Under-jaw firmer, tighter, noticeably less crepey. Jawline more lifted. Husband and a friend both said she looked younger. Zero irritation.
Day 90Much more firmness through jawline and lower face. Skin softer but stronger, under-eye less hollow and less shadowed. In her words, โ€œmy age spots still exist, but they do seem lighter.โ€
Participant account
I still look like myself, just a firmer, healthier version.Day 90

How to read this

This is an uncontrolled, unblinded, participant-reported study with no placebo arm, no instrumental measurement, no clinician grading and no ethics-committee oversight. Improvement cannot be separated from regression to the mean, seasonality, concurrent skincare, weight trajectory or expectancy. The boundaries of the design are stated plainly because the study is more useful to both parties when they are explicit.

The controlled study

What would establish more

The results above describe tolerability, adherence and a directional signal in participant-reported appearance. A controlled study, with independent grading and instrument-based measurement in place of self-report, is the natural next step, and one we intend to pursue. To our knowledge, no study of that kind in a GLP-1 population has been published.

Run in a defined patient population

Conducted within a single provider's patient population, a study of that kind would produce data on how that population's skin behaves during GLP-1 therapy. Access, ownership, permitted use, publication and governance of that data would be set out in a written agreement before the study began, with participant consent covering each permitted use.

About this document

Photography. All images were captured by participants on their own devices at home, without standardised lighting, distance or positioning. Panels are cropped to comparable framing and, where noted, scale-normalised so faces are the same size. No retouching, smoothing, reshaping or colour correction has been applied to any image. Because capture conditions vary between sessions, lighting and distance differ from one timepoint to the next. These images show the direction of change in one individual. They are not presented as typical, and no figure in this document derives a number from an image.

Quotations. Every quotation in this document is participant-authored and reproduced verbatim from a written check-in in that participant's own words.

Consent. Written consent covering photography and publication was obtained from all ten participants. Identity is reported as first name and last initial.

Excluded. Two individuals used the system during the same period and are not part of this cohort: one produced no participant-authored feedback, and one followed a different protocol, beginning at the start of GLP-1 therapy rather than after facial change. Neither is counted, quoted or photographed here.

Protocol, questionnaire instruments and anonymised per-participant data available to technical or regulatory reviewers on request.
